Visit Switzerland - Family Tour Packages

Switzerland is thus an ideal location for family vacations, with its beautiful surroundings and a sense of excitement that all visitors take back home. Take a Switzerland family tour package from Mauritius, for example. It's great for spending some time with the family.

Travelers may visit this country and also experience the other wonders of Europe.

This is appropriate because Switzerland borders France to the west, Italy to the south, Germany in each direction, and Austria as well. So there is no at reason not to take a complete tour of Europe. Switzerland family packages guarantee a holiday to remember; great for action seekers, nature buffs, and history hounds alike. The green hills and valleys are enhanced by the rugged character of the mountains so that one gets a splendid opportunity to stretch out, sit back, and watch it all. Learning more about some of the oldest items in our European museums is another opportunity one cannot afford to miss.

Travelers in Switzerland family packages naturally feel happy to be in a country renowned for its snow-covered mountains, crystal clear lakes, and natural scenery. Switzerland is a great place for families who love adventure sports, with everything from snowboarding to skiing and ice skating.

It's just so convenient to travel around Switzerland, thanks to the Eurail and the excellent roads that lead you down there among lovely scenic spots for a family outing. In the case of such tour packages relying on surface transport but not flights, always pay attention to the changing scenery.

Best Family-Friendly Places to Visit in Switzerland

1. Basel

Basel is far from Swiss, and not many people go looking for it first when taking their children to Switzerland. Why do I say that? But there's no mountain in sight anywhere around here, and it all looks flat and dull. But what you will discover here are lots of fantastic museums--museums that kids find interesting too. I also encourage families to come and enjoy the Tinguely Museum. Jean Tinguely was a Swiss avant-garde sculptor, known for his performances and regularly featured as an artist. These are in this museum, and they are very popular with children of all ages. Others kids can climb on, or push a button to get some of these machines going. Perfect for curious children!

2. Bern

What about a nearby city hike? No hills to climb, no mountains--but what I can promise is the fantastic scenery. In Meiringen, where fleshed-out Sherlock Holmes met his end falling off a cliff in front of the waterfall. The scenery includes a glimpse of the grandeur of the Reichenbach Falls, as well as walking for 1.5 km along passages and suspension platforms hewn into walls alongside the Aare River gorge below them. If you get hungry after the hike, there is also a merengue or two. As it happens, they originated in Meiringen; thus their name. Bet you didn't know this!

3. Viamala

Another must-see destination for your Switzerland with kids' itinerary is Viamala. Viamala isn't a town or city, just another road in the Grisons region near Thusis. Viamala means Bad Path. The name derives from a Roman mule path running along the edge of a deep ravine that passed by here. Furthermore, quite a few travelers in the past had met their deaths along this route. Now it has become a destination in its own right. Stairs, concrete walkways, and tunnels take you deep into the gorge. A more adventurous method of descent is to climb under natural overhangs. The most interesting part of it is that kids aged 7-12 take a scavenger hunt. Strollers should be aware that it is not stroller accessible.

4. Lucerne

That's why everyone loves Lucerne. To start with, there is a very well-preserved medieval center and an ancient wooden covered bridge. Other attractions include an awe-inspiring Dying Lion Monument, the Glacier Garden, and mirror labyrinth. But what we like best about Lucerne, is the incredible Swiss Museum of Transport which must be one of that country's most popular museums. It is extremely hands-on. One can acquire as much knowledge about mobility and transport--road, rail, water or air --as you want. In addition, it has a planetarium and an area devoted to space travel.
